INK AND ACRYLIC ON PAPER
After visiting New York I wanted to create a piece of Artwork that captured the excitement and buzz of the city.
To draw out this piece I used a hand cut wooden stick, dipped in black Indian ink. I started by drawing out the general structure of the scene, with loose, free marks. Using the same tools I then added details to the buildings, billboards and roads and applied touches of colour with acrylic paint. New York is the city that never sleeps, and in this scene I wanted to portray a sense of busyness with lots of people and details. I am really happy with how this piece came out and feel it captures the energy and excitement of New York City.
